Charitable Donations for 2022

One of the many joys of the role of sitting Past President is interfacing with our club’s charities. This year I was honored to represent the Redwood Region in the presentation of a check to Jill Joseph from CASA of Sonoma County at our Holiday Party on December 10, 2022. On December 30, 2022, we received a personal note of thanks:
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and our many dedicated volunteers we thank you for joining us as we give hope to young victims of the horrible reality of child abuse.” –Heloisa Heinen, CASA Executive Director
On December 19, 2022, I was also able to hand-deliver a check to Shana Davis (right in photo above), Lisa Cannon (left in photo above), and Nicole Lorange (photo credit) of the Redwood Empire Food Bank at their Santa Rosa facility.
Shana was even able to take the opportunity of my visit to sit in “Sasha” for a quick photo op.
My final visit on December 19th was to our friends at Paws for Purple Hearts. There I was able to hand-deliver a check from the club to Claire Richardson and George, their official four-legged public liaison, at their Penngrove Headquarters.
George (on the left in photo) was a trooper, and extremely photogenic!
As these visits and this recounting of them mark the final chapter of my eight years on the Executive Council of the Redwood Region PCA Board, I wanted to use the opportunity to thank you all for allowing me to serve. It has been a distinct privilege and pleasure to represent our club nationally and within our own community for almost a decade, and I appreciate each and every one of you.
May 2023 bring us all smooth roads, more throttle, and less brake. Be well, and Happy New Year!
Chip Witt, Sitting Past President

Chip Witt
Past President
I have been on the Redwood Region board since 2015, serving as Secretary (2015-2016), Vice President (2017-2018), President (2019-2020), and Sitting Past President (2021-2022). This club and the people in it have helped to add tremendous joy to my life. Serving on the board and volunteering time has been my way of trying to give some of that joy back.
