January 2024 President’s Message

Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are ready for an exciting 2024.

First, a big Thank You to your 2023 Board of Directors, event chairs and everyone who volunteered to make it a terrific year for Redwood Region. We say good-bye to Rona Stefani as our Treasurer and Ben Davoren as our Past President. We truly appreciate both of your efforts on behalf of the Region and look forward to you continuing as active members.

I am honored to introduce your 2024 Executive Council. I am your incoming President, Pat Burke is Vice President, Eileen Gaines is Secretary, Don Magdanz is Treasurer, and Vern Rogers is Past President. Every appointed Board Member has agreed to continue in their positions. I will acknowledge them after they are confirmed at the January board meeting.

We left 2023 with a rocking Holiday Party at the Washoe House in Petaluma. The die-hards danced till 11PM to the music of “Void Where Prohibited”. Even our event coordinator and bartender were dancing.

2024 Kicked off with the “One One Fun Run” to Northwood. Both events were the largest turnouts in recent years. The upcoming “Run for the Crab” is sure to be a sell-out as well. Don’t miss out. We have two dates to watch for the National PCA calendar. The registration date for Treffen Wine Country is January 10th and the 1st phase registration for the Porsche Parade in Birmingham, Alabama is January 31st.

Later in this issue you will see I am celebrating my 49th anniversary in PCA this month. You don’t do anything that long unless you truly enjoy it. I am looking forward to another fun year of activities with PCA and Redwood Region.
