November 2020 President’s Message

Two days ago I received what must have been, quite honestly, the twenty-second monthly reminder from our der Riesenbaum Editor telling me that the President’s Message for the month’s issue was imminently due (I never quite managed to get ahead of the deadline). As I...

Back in the Paddock Again

It might have been short (only two events this year), but we wrapped our season at the paddock at Sonoma Raceway this past Sunday. 40 drivers showed up ready to run. With a cross over course designed by Autocross Co-Chair Drew Powers, the competitive juices were...

Ready to leave 2020 in the rear view mirror?

It’s no secret that this has been the most challenging year for our club. Marking so many of our regular events as cancelled (some permanently, such as the Station House Brunch Run in Point Reyes) was painful as the months went by. But we had our first ‘no-touch’...

Our first Thunderhill AX is a wrap

Our autocross season of 2020 finally kicked off with a two-day Zone 7 event at Thunderhill on October 11. Sacramento Valley Region hosted us and we couldn't have asked for a nicer partner or better weather. We had 47 drivers and ran the course in the opposite...

Social Distancing Rally Wrap-Up

Congratulations to all participants in the Social Distancing Rally. Ida Clayton would be proud! Feedback including: Fun-to-drive roads. I may have to call the EPA for clean-up help when I wash the car! Lots of fun over roads we wouldn't have otherwise known about....

Hoppy Porsche Tour Review

The first significant rainfall in over a month did not dampen the spirits of the dozen drivers who came out for our now-annual “Hoppy Porsche Tour” on Saturday March 7 th . Although one could question our sanity for standing around in Novato’s Vintage Oaks parking lot...

Hi Tec Automotive 35th Anniversary Party

Membership Director, Tom Short had a conversation with Deven Wailes, owner of Hi Tec,  who suggested holding a Redwood Region event on the 35th year of operation of this renowned Porsche shop in San Rafael.  Tom thought that this was a great idea as Hi Tec has...

Redwood Region Response to COVID-19

The health and safety of our members and fellow car enthusiasts is of utmost importance to the Redwood Region and the broader Porsche Club of America. In observance of the continuing state-wide stay-at-home order to minimize the spread of the novel coronavirus through unnecessary social contact, we have removed all club events from our calendar through the end of May.

We continue to monitor the situation as it pertains to Redwood Region activities. Many venues for events planned deeper into the Summer months have already communicated their unavailability due to COVID-19 impacts. The board is hard at work on event ideas, some entirely “virtual” and others with a specific focus on proper social distancing as stay-at-home restrictions lift, and they will be added to our calendar over the coming weeks.

The 2020 Porsche Parade has been cancelled. Additional information on PCA, Porsche events, and the Coronavirus from National can be found at https://www.pca.org/pca-and-porsche-events-and-coronavirus.

Please stay safe and be well.

Redwood Region is Powered by Volunteers!

The Redwood Region of the Porsche Club of America (PCA-RED) needs your talents! Here’s your opportunity to join in the fun and become more involved. Our club has a little something for everyone because “It’s not just the cars, it’s the people.”

Volunteerism and participation are the lifeblood of our club and make it stronger; however, we realize that not everyone has a lot of time to contribute. No need to sign your life away. Simply helping out for an hour or two at an event or a few hours a month on a committee would be invaluable.
