Redwood Region was born out of a group of Porsche enthusiasts in Marin County who wanted a club of their own. In September 1968, Dr. John T. Korn, president of the Tamalpais Porsche Club of San Rafael, wrote to PCA National requesting permission to form a new region covering Marin, Sonoma, and Napa Counties – territory that Golden Gate Region formally released that December.

By January 20, 1969, with 15 active members and a signed petition bearing nearly 30 signatures, Redwood Region was officially chartered as PCA’s 73rd region.

Today, Redwood Region spans seven counties across Northern California – from Marin north to the Oregon border – and counts over 1200 members strong. That growth mirrors the Porsche brand itself, which has evolved from a small sports car manufacturer with a devoted cult following into one of the most recognized automotive names in the world. The cars have changed. The passion hasn’t.
