August 2025 President’s Message

It is so hard to believe it’s August already. Monterey Car week is upon us.

I will be leaving for Werks Reunion and the Historic Races this Thursday. I’ll barely be home a few days and it’s back to Laguna Seca for the West Cost Club Race.

My July article was very short as I had just returned from the Porsche Parade. I will write a separate article on Parade but, needless to say it was a wonderful event. Taking a step back I wanted to mention what a pleasure it was to again lead the Redwood Region members on a parade lap of Sonoma Raceway. If you want to see the track, be watching for the next GGR DE or Club Race at Sonoma. We always try to do a lunch drive around.

We have a special event coming up September 13th. This will be our celebration of PCA’s 70th Anniversary. Regions across the country are all having events on this special day. Pat Burke has worked very hard to plan this joint event between Redwood and Golden Gate. There is more information in other articles but I just want encourage you to register as soon as it opens so you do not miss your opportunity to share in this historic event.

I am pleased to announce a new addition to our 2025 Board. For those who do not know our Safety Chairman, Craig Steele, has resigned from his position for personal reasons. Joe Burroughs has stepped up to accept the position.

I know Joe will do an excellent job – Welcome to the Board Joe!
