January 2023 President’s Message

I hope that you all had a great holiday season and wish each and every one of you a very Happy New Year! As with 2022, we have a calendar filling with activities. Just like last year, filling does not mean filled. If you have an idea for a drive or other event please...

Charitable Donations for 2022

One of the many joys of the role of sitting Past President is interfacing with our club’s charities. This year I was honored to represent the Redwood Region in the presentation of a check to Jill Joseph from CASA of Sonoma County at our Holiday Party on December 10,...

2022 Toys for Tots Gift Drive

The Holidays are a great time of year to reflect on all for which we have to be thankful. In so doing, the Redwood Region as a club has always sought new ways for our membership to share those blessings with others that may be less fortunate. This year, the Redwood...

Mid-Week Tour

Sun, lightly traveled roads, and 61 Porsches serpentining their way along iconic west county roads . . . what more could you ask for on a mid-March Wednesday morning?  After convening at the Target parking lot in Petaluma, three run groups of cars headed out Bodega...

Autocross Season is Upon Us!

The AX season has begun! Last weekend our sister Zone 7 regions, GGR and LPR, held a Saturday/Sunday autocross event at Cow Palace. See below for Drew Powers' best run of the day. But let's be real. Not everyone drives like Drew, even though a lot of us try! One thing...

April Rally Report

We finally ran the postponed Two Lake Rally in late March. With the drought, I was getting concerned we would have to change the name to the Dry Lake Rally. Fifteen cars entered, one cancelled, and one did not find the start location. The all-paved, 100-mile route...

2022 Rally School

The Redwood Region hosted the Zone 7 Rally School on February 12th and, by all measurements, it was very successful. The classroom at Sonoma State University could hold 60 students, but we limited entries to 50 to allow some social distancing and to avoid possible...

One One Fun Run “Bay to Bay”

After one New Years Day (2021) lost to COVID, 44 intrepid, awake and alert Redwood members in 28 flavors of Stuttgart’s best came together to restart the One One Fun Run tradition. This year’s drive started at the McInnis Park Golf Course parking lot in Marinwood...

“Newbie” Autocross

Redwood Region took advantage of unseasonably warm fall weather to put on a "newbie" Autocross event just before Thanksgiving. A record 24 brand new autocrossers were born at Sonoma Raceway! Many thanks to our tireless instructors who kept the event safe and fun....

Picture Perfect Rally

On Saturday, November 20th sixteen Porsches navigated in and out of the Napa Valley wine country roadways looking for 35 specific images of signs, sculptures, structures, and landscapes. This was my first attempt at organizing a Gimmick Rally. Jim Robison, our Rally...

Redwood Region is Powered by Volunteers!

The Redwood Region of the Porsche Club of America (PCA-RED) needs your talents! Here’s your opportunity to join in the fun and become more involved. Our club has a little something for everyone because “It’s not just the cars, it’s the people.”

Volunteerism and participation are the lifeblood of our club and make it stronger; however, we realize that not everyone has a lot of time to contribute. No need to sign your life away. Simply helping out for an hour or two at an event or a few hours a month on a committee would be invaluable.
